Joseph D. Kearney is the conservative lawyer who hired a liberal lion, former U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold.
He's a south side Chicago native who proclaims himself a "proud Milwaukeean."
And he's the man who once insisted that Marquette University didn't need a new law school building and then, when he realized he was wrong, led the charge that produced the now year-old $85 million Ray and Kay Eckstein Hall.
What it all means is this: Kearney is the open-minded dean of the Marquette University Law School, a man guided by principle, precedent and practicality.
