Hilbert, St. Bonaventure begin study that could link campuses

Hilbert College and St. Bonaventure University have begun a study that would examine the future relationship of the two Franciscan schools, including the potential for some type of merger.

Hilbert President Cynthia Zane and St. Bonaventure President Sister Margaret Carney shied away from using the word merger because they called it speculative about where the relationship between the two colleges might go and what it would eventually look like.

But it’s clear both are looking to develop a more significant partnership to improve the shaky economic model that exists throughout higher education.
