Ferris State University’s faculty association has asked the school’s board of trustees to extend its existing contract – due to expire in June – for an additional two years.
The offer was presented recently by Ferris Faculty Association President Jim Rumpf during the public comment period at the university’s last board of trustees meeting.
Rumpf said he made the offer because he wanted two departing board members – Chair Ronald Snead and member George Menoutes – to have the opportunity to do “one last great thing as board members.”
“Getting this done prior to the contract expiring would help all of us insure a quality education for our students, and I asked (the board) to let Ron and George do this one last great thing as board members for the university,” Rumpf said in a note to Ferris Faculty Association members.
