The downed trees today on the University of Alabama campus are not the result of a tornado or strong thunderstorm. It's a sign of progress.
Crews are at work today on the new greenway on the UAH campus that's designed to give the school more of a college atmosphere. It has been in the planning stages for more than two years and is scheduled to be completed next year.
The greenway will run south from Holmes Avenue, will run south from Holmes Avenue between Charger Village residence hall and the Shelby Center for Science and Technology.
The highlight of the greenway will be a new $25 million student life center. Construction on the 97,000 square foot facility is expected to begin later this year.
