The state board of education unanimously voted today to approve plans by Calhoun Community College to expand and refurbish its Huntsville campus on Wynn Drive.
Janet Martin, assistant to Calhoun President Marilyn Beck, said Beck intends to have the project on the "fast track."
Calhoun first introduced the $34 million plan to the state board two weeks ago during a work session.
The board approved a $15 million bond issue while Calhoun will cover the remaining $19 million.
