Developed by ATEN, based in Foothill Ranch, CA, to meet the growing industry demand for 3D connectivity solutions, the company has launched this week the industry’s first 3D-enabled KVM switch. The new two- and four-port USB Dual Link DVI KVMP (CS1782A/CS1784A) switches support the transmission of 3D video signals from various sources to a 3D-capable 120Hz LCD monitor and feature a USB 2.0 hub for flexible extension of peripherals (KVMP).

Hellman & Friedman, Datatel+SGHE, and SunGard Data Systems today announced that the transactions to combine the businesses of Datatel and SunGard Higher Education have closed.  As a result, more than 3,000 employees will be dedicated exclusively to delivering solutions to education institutions in 40 countries.

The newly formed company will have a new name, which will be launched in the first half of 2012.  Until that time, it will be referred to as Datatel+SGHE.

Seattle Pacific University (SPU) has selected Blackboard to develop a mobile app to provide on-the-go access to critical student services and campus information, the company announced today. After thorough review, officials at SPU found that partnering with Blackboard was more cost and time efficient than developing an application in-house, and better positioned the university to establish a long-term mobile strategy to increase and sustain student engagement.

Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut Calif. has just graduated its first HVAC/Mechanical Controls Class using building controls Training Modules and products contributed by Siemens Building Technologies Division. The program was developed for the school by Rick Creed of Air-Ex Air Conditioning in Pomona, a Siemens Value-Added Partner (VAP).

Campus Televideo, a provider of custom cable TV, data and voice services to over 220 colleges and universities nationwide, has signed a multi-year agreement with the University of Miami to provide its cable programming product to nearly 6,000 students on the university’s main campus, as well as its Miller School of Medicine.  Campus Televideo will be delivering over 150 channels of entertainment and academic television.
